What comes with the cremation package?
Memorial Urn. A handmade, high quality pet cremation urn is provided. Additional options or upgraded urns are also available.
Clay Paw Print. A clay paw print of your actual pet’s paw is casted and provided as part of the memorial package.
Certificate of Cremation. A cremation certificate verifying your pet was cremated by our certified staff.
Celebration Video. Regency creates a celebration video of your pet’s photos. These videos can be shared with friends and family on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to celebrate the life and memories of your beloved companion.
RFID Tag.(Radio-frequency identification). Each pet is assigned a one-time use RFID tag which attaches to the Regency animal bag. The RFID tag tracks your pet in real-time through the entire cremation process. Your pet is scanned at the veterinary office or at home during the pickup, then at the arrival to the Regency care center. Your pet receives additional scans throughout the process at the care center, including the final scan when the cremated remains and package depart from Regency. The last scan in the entire process occurs when the cremation package is delivered to either the veterinary office or your home.
Transportation. Your pet will be picked up and transported by a Treasured Pets Field Service Representative at either the veterinary office or from your home and delivered back to the same destination.
What is Cremation?
Cremation is a process by which the body is reduced to its basic elements using extreme heat within a cremation chamber. All organic matter is consumed by heat or evaporation. The remaining bone fragments are referred to as “cremated remains.” These cremated remains are then carefully removed from the cremation chamber, cooled, prepared into a finer consistency, and packaged for return to the pet family.
What is a Private Cremation?
Cremation is the most common choice for final care for pets. Performed in our certified crematory, every pet receives a private cremation, unless specifically requested to be cremated in a memorial group/communal cremation process. The International Association of Pet Cemeteries and Crematories (IAOPCC) identifies private cremation as the procedure during which only one pet is present in the cremation chamber during the cremation process. Regency follows these stringent guidelines and only conducts private cremations unless a family specifically selects a memorial group cremation. For all private cremations, the pet is uniquely identified throughout the entire process. The cremated remains of your pet are the only remains processed and returned.
What is the paw print process?
We typically use the front paws to make paw impressions. A special type of clay is used and kneaded to the desired consistency. Once the impression is made, the paw print is heated, allowed to cool, and finalized depending on the selection made (ceramic, painted, etc.).
What is a Partitioned Cremation?
A cremation procedure during which more than one pet is present in the cremation chamber and the cremated remains of specific pets are returned to their pet parents. There is a form of separation between each pet, thus keeping the cremated remains both identifiable and retrievable. Treasure Pets does not offer this form of cremation because there is risk of some comingling of remains. As pet owners ourselves, we believe the most accurate and highest quality cremation process for our pets and the pets of the families we serve is a truly PRIVATE cremation.
What is Memorial or Group Cremation?
Some families choose not to receive the returned cremated remains for their pet. Regency can support this choice by offering a Memorial Group or Communal Cremation. This is a cremation procedure in which multiple pets are cremated together without any form of separation. Cremated remains are not returned to the pet parent but scattered in an environmentally and socially responsible way. For communal cremation services completed by Regency, the cremated remains are scattered on a local farm.
What does “Cremated Remains” vs “Ashes” mean?
Utilizing the term “ashes” does not correctly describe the final product after cremation. During the cremation process, the ambient temperature of the cremation chamber averages 1700 degrees. Bone fragments remain after the full process and are referred to as “cremated remains.” The remaining bone fragments are then processed to create a finer material similar in consistency to sand. The cremated remains may contain various shades of gray. In addition, green, blue, red and yellow organic particles may be visible in the cremated remains.
Can toys, leashes or Blankets accompany the pet in cremation?
No, your pet is placed in a bag designed for the cremation process. We’re governed by strict environmental standards and are closely monitored by regulatory agencies regarding our emissions. Thus, no plastic toys, balls, etc. can accompany your pet within the cremation chamber.
Do you offer “split-created remains” as an option for the packaging?
Yes, and this option is frequently requested from families, siblings or co-owners of a pet. Your pet will be cremated per our usual protocols and upon request, duplicate urns, paw prints, and engraved tags will be created. These selections can be made through the ordering site or by working closely with our customer service team.
